More than a decade ago I house-sat for a family with a large rose garden. Along with watering and pruning the roses while they were gone, I was also encouraged to clip some flowers for the house too. Whenever I have fresh flowers in the house now, I think of them and how much I enjoyed taking care of their roses.
When we moved into our house, there was very little landscaping, except for trees in the front yard. After quite a bit of research, I determined that our SW side yard would work great for a little rose garden. I fell in love with the look of Iceberg roses and ordered a dozen little plants last spring. They didn’t do much over the summer, but this spring they have really taken off! I love looking at them out the windows and taking care of them.
